Isle of Raasay Gin (70cl, 46%)
This month’s featured gin is the Isle of Raasay Gin, coming to us from this small Hebridean island with a long history of illegal distilling –the Isle of Raasay distillery was actually the first legal distillery on the island.
Their focus and inspiration are local excellence in production, provenance and quality, using only the finest local ingredients and botanicals, hand selected with the help of local botanist Dr Stephen Bungard. The Isle of Raasay provides abundant ingredients for making the perfect gin, as well as plenty of inspiration and history.
What makes this gin unique is the attention to detail in the distilling process. The distillers make the cut when the citrus reveals itself and collect only the “heart” of the run makes the cut, to ensure that only the very best quality gin is bottled.
Inspiration
Fresh and aromatic, with juniper, sweet orange, candied lemon, and hints of rhubarb on the nose, this dry gin gives rich, sophisticated notes of juniper, rhubarb, and citrus fruits before all the flavours harmonise together for a refreshing, long-lasting finish.
For the perfect serve, serve over ice, with thin strips of orange zest, expressing the oils into your glass and around the rim to highlight crisp citrus notes.
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our website and social channels throughout the month to see our great range of gin cocktails.
Here’s our favourite gin cocktail from this month that you can all enjoy:
