With spooky season now upon us, it’s time to dig out those costumes and plan yourself a thoroughly frightening Halloween night. Whether you’ll be hosting the season’s spookiest party, dishing out treats to tiny masked ghouls, or curling up on the sofa for an old-fashioned scare fest on the television, there’s no better way to really get into the spirit of things than with a Halloween themed gin cocktail! We’ve put together a few of our favourite spook-tacular gin cocktails to help you celebrate in style! Grab a few bottles of gin from our gin shop to help you get started!
This is a frighteningly tasty twist on a classic martini and isn’t complex for you to make!
For added scare factor, pop in a gummy eyeball garnish to float in this Halloween gin cocktail!
50ml Gin
15ml Dry Vermouth
Ice
2 Drops of Homemade Fake Blood:
7g Caster Sugar
44g Red Liquid Food Colouring
To make your fake blood, dissolve the caster sugar into the food colouring. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the gin and vermouth. Shake thoroughly and then double strain into a chilled tumbler over ice. Drop over a few of drops of fake blood and you’re done!
Place a gummy eyeball in the drink for a spooky effect.
A grown up version of the classic Trick or Treat – this sour and sweet cocktail will send your tastebuds into overload!
50ml gin
25ml orange juice
25ml lime juice
1 egg white
Dash of orange bitters
Shake all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a rimmed coupe glass.
For a full trick or treat experience, alternate between lime and orange, and between sugar and salt, for your gin cocktail rims!
This sweet and fruity gin cocktail is a black as Halloween night!
50ml gin
25ml blue curacao liquer
15ml black raspberry liquer
Shake all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish.
A citrus twist sets off the dark colour of this Halloween gin cocktail perfectly.
A classic cocktail with a deadly kick; perfect for the spooky season!
15ml gin
15ml absinthe
15ml Cointreau
15ml lemon juice
15ml Lillet
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. After a vigorous shake, strain into a chilled martini glass.
Traditionally you’d want to go for an orange twist, or even orange slice. But since it’s Halloween, we think a blood orange slice would be much more appropriate!
Brew up a potion of your own and wow guests with it’s swirling colours and fizzing flavour. This gin cocktail is sure to see you accused of witchcraft!
50ml colour changing gin
25ml lemon juice
15ml blackcurrant liquer
Soda water
Purple shimmer drops or blackberry shimmer powder
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all ingredients except the soda water. Shake briefly to combine, and pour into a tall glass. Top with soda water, and a little extra shimmer powder.
A small handful of smashed seasonal berries will enhance this potent potion!
