Gin 1689 Pink Gin Queen Mary Edition (70cl, 38.5%)
This month’s featured gin is Gin 1689 Pink Gin– Queen Mary Edition from the Amsterdam Gin Company.
Gin 1689 Pink Gin History
This gin was originally launched in 2019 in the Netherlands, with the pink edition released this year. Founders Alexander Janssens & Patrick van der Peet created Gin1689 based on a three-century-old recipe from the time of King William II of England & Queen Mary the Second, found in the archives of the British Library.
Each gin is distilled with the same botanicals of the 1689 recipe. These include juniper, dried quince, pippin, lemon and orange peel, nutmeg, aniseed, & clove. The pink edition also has strawberries & raspberries.
