Ditchling Gin (70cl, 40%)
This month’s featured gin is Ditchling Gin from the Ditchling Spirits company.
Ditchling Gin History
This London Dry-style gin was launched in Summer 2019, taking its inspiration from the surroundings of Ditchling in the South Downs, East Sussex. Ditchling is the creative home of the arts & crafts movement. The gin was first made by a group of gin-loving family and friends in the village, who created it for a local village summer ball.
Each gin is created using UK grain spirit and local botanicals from the surrounding Sussex area. They are combined with fresh orange, lemon, bitter almond and cassia bark botanicals.
The result, a rich taste with a subtle, sweet, orange citrus finish. Although it has been on sale for a year, this gin has already won awards. Ditchling Gin took the silver award at the IWSC 2020, International Spirits Challenge 2020, and London Spirits Competition 2020.
For the perfect serve, serve over ice with light or Mediterannean-style tonic water. Or you can use soda water and a twist of orange.
