Buddha’s Hand Gin (70cl, 40%)
This month’s featured gin is Buddha’s Hand Gin, coming to us from Batch Brew in Winchester! Founded in 2011, Batch Brew started with craft beers, before beginning their distilling journey in 2012. In the early days gin production took place in the evening, with wages paid in gin (surely a dream come true)! 2015 saw Batch Brew attend their first gin festival, winning their first award shortly after, the San Francisco World Spirit Competition Silver Medal.
Inspiration
With a focus on experimentation and innovation, they focus on developing the best and most unusual spirits. Buddha’s Hand Gin is inspired by classic Chinese flavours, balanced with tradition botanicals, for an exceptional East-West fusion experience.
Result
This fragrant gin won Bronze at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. With distinct flavours coming from a range of botanicals including apricot, chrysanthemum, coriander, dates, galangal, ginger, juniper, liquorice, pepper, pomelo, star anise and zedoaria, Buddha’s Hand provides a bold and aromatic palate, with citrus notes.
